Got me an LJ!

Hello folks! I got me an LJ account ... look for me HERE.

However that doesn't mean I'll discontinue my use of Blogger and BlogSpot after my long existence here. Thank you! ^_^

A possible name and status change?

Yesterday, during class, my evil Comm 140 prof called me three different names, all permutations of my real name:

  1. J_y, my nickname since childhood, where most people recognize me by;
  2. J_y_e, the nickname I use in UP; and
  3. The kicker: JO -> now where the hell did THAT come from?!?! @_@;;;

And today, my mom, who was irate (as usual) for having to wait for my younger and taller sister to come home (as usual), accidentally  referred to my sister as "ANAK MO" (YOUR DAUGHTER)- to ME.  For those not in the know, I'm bloody friggin' 19 going 20.

I think a possible emancipation from my family, or at the very least a court hearing to have my name changed, is in order. @__________________@;;;

 ++ I shall be back after midterms, my UP Green Minds (no, it's NOT what you think - rather it's an environmental advocacy UP CMC-based organization) application, and other whatnot. Oh, and until I find me a host for my pictures, I can't show you just how cute my new hair looks. So until then, I remain the Goddess of Hope and Happiness... ++

Somewhere Over the Rainbow

The trip to Laguna wasn't as bad as I thought. In fact, it was EVEN BETTER.

On the way home from our last stop, Paete (home to woodcarvers and sculptors), we passed by some rice fields. At the right side of the trusty Mitsubishi Pajero that the driver, my mother, my sisters and I were cooped up in, was a row of rice fields trapped by the cemented road as well as nearby (nearby meaning about five to ten kilometers or so away) mountains. The sun beat down on us from the northwest side, at least that's how it looked from inside the 4X4 anyways.

And that's when we saw IT - A PERFECTLY ARCHED RAINBOW, WITH NEARLY ALL THE COLORS, ALMOST 1 KILOMETER LONG, BOTH ENDS VISIBLE TO THE NAKED EYE. This illustrated a beautiful aspect of the special theory of relativity in physics - while we were moving, the rainbow was "static." I could have sworn that we were sorry to rush to leave the town though, as my Ate and I had other engagements that night.

We hurriedly sent out SMS messages to our Dad and to all our loved ones back in Manila (or completely out of town). 'The reply of Sarah, Ate's friend, takes the cake: "Uy! Good luck 'yun! Tumaya ka na sa lotto! (Hey! That's good luck! You should join the lotto!)."

Unfortunately for Ate, I beat her in a game of jack-en-poy (stone-paper-scissors) a few minutes ago. XD

Well, I don't want to be modest but ... during some part of my life, I can honestly say that I DID have the power of extremely good luck.

It's about time I reclaimed it for myself! ^_^ Mwahahahahaha.

"Happy New Year!" ... or My Lack of a Social life thereof

 Well folks, the year 2004 is here.

Unfortunately for me, my parents are not exactly party people and my sisters ... well, my sisters left me to go to the ball. Okay, maybe that was extreme, but they have their own shindigs to attend these days.

This is one of those times when I wish I have party friends who'll be there for the sole purpose of partying. But alas, most of my friends are, like me, only able to party if their 'rents won't drag them elsewhere - which, in this time and country, means New Year's clan reunions. -_-;;; Sigh.

Ah well, I guess this is a blessing in disguise - after all, I'll spend less and get to sleep more. Or, alternately, play Ragnarok. XD

And it's already past my bedtime. ^_^;;;
